Neil, I have been a fan of yours from day one; I have had every record that you ever made (Remember 'Jonathan Living Seagul?) My wife & I went to your concert in Atlanta in 2005; we laughed, cried, sang, cried, waved, cried and fell apart with your magic. She died in Feb 2006; I had to go to your 2006 concert in Florida without her - I have never been so moved by the magic of your songs ("Forever in Blue Jeans" just broke me, and everybody 'round me, up) - no regrets. Thank you, Neil, for all of these incredible years -please, when is the next "last" (you know what I mean!) Tour? My thanks for 4+ decades of you and your music and "you"
Steve.

Neil's voice was better than ever during this South Florida concert! Starting with Solitary Man, Neil showed what a jewel of a voice he still has. After not seeing Neil live for 15 years, I did not know what to expect. His voice sounded better than it did back in 1993! Sharp and crisp and able to nail all the high notes, Neil is back better than ever! He really got the crowd going on staples such as Sweet Caroline, America, and one of my many favorites, Brother Love's Travelling Salvation Show. I even loved some of his new songs such as Pretty Amazing Grace and Home Before Dark.
What I thought was really inspiring and very cool, was his autobiographical piece Brooklyn Roads played to video images. Also, America gave me goosebumps with the video image of immigrants coming to America.
Overall, I thought the concert was great with the mix of old and new songs.
The setlist in no particular order was:
1. Solitary Man, 2. Cherry, Cherry, 3. Kentucky Woman, 4. I'm a Believer, 5. Sweet Caroline, 6. Holly Holy, 7. I am... I Said, 8. Cracklin' Rosie, 9. Play Me, 10. Crunchy Granola Suite, 11. Brooklyn Roads, 12. Soolaimon, 13. America, 14. Hello Again, 15. Love on the Rocks, 16. Brother Love's Travelling Salvation Show, 17. You Don't Bring Me Flowers, 18. Forever in Blue Jeans, 19. Leave a Little Room For God, 20. Beatiful Noise, 21. Hell Yeah, 22. Man of God, 23. Pretty Amazing Grace, 24. Home Before Dark

My admiration for Neil and his music began in college with, “Girl, You’ll be a Woman Soon.” And, I became one not long thereafter. “Red, Red Wine” followed in the charts and in my life, in moderate quantities! Hot August Night was the first of seven ND concerts I attended prior to last night's. He’s the only performer I’ve seen multiple times who consistently gives his all to his fans during a show. The same goes for his excellent, long-time band members/singers. I missed not hearing Red, Red Wine, a classic Diamond hit, in Ft. Lauderdale. But, I delighted in hearing many other Hot August Night tour songs, and later hits, that sounded as good as the first time. And, as usual, Neil’s new songs are also becoming my favorites.
Although younger folks were present, I noticed a more seasoned (but lively) crowd at last night’s Ft. Lauderdale performance—middle aged and up. I'm in my 50s, and I realized the mature audience consisted mainly of those of us who have grown up with our music idol, Neil—a man singing some songs that now include lyrics with an intimate spiritual quality that touched us deeply. Like his many concerts that have gone before, Neil left us standing, dancing, applauding, and calling for just one more song. Till next time, God Bless you, Neil, and your backup folks!
